Dr.Anagnostis Argiriou got his Doctor of Biological Sciences degree cum laude in 1996 and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Medical Biotechnology in 2001 in Italy. From 2001 to 2003 he worked at CEINGE Biotecnologie Avanzate in Italy mainly to implement and improve human biodiagnostic protocols. In 2005 he joined the Institute of Agrobiotechnology in a Post Doctoral position and in 2006 became researcher.
The field of prevailing scientific interests are the study of the genetic and epigenetic regulation of metabolic pathways in humans, the role of nutrition in the appearance of diseases as well as exploitation of genomic and proteomic technologies to improve plants and animal qualitative traits, nutritional characteristics, and traceability of food products with an extensive record of publications in the field.
He is member of the Greek Society of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, the Greek Society of Bioscientists, the European Atherosclerosis Society and the Greek Atherosclerosis Society of Northern Greece.
