The Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB) as knowledge provider during BLUE_BOOST project with the collaboration of Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, successfully implemented two preliminary research projects funded from innovation vouchers.
The vouchers concerned the development of innovative projects in the aquaculture sector:
1) The development of a method of artificial reproduction of sea cucumbers in order to produce healthy and certified genetic material so that the company NORTH AEGEAN SEAFOOD can create the first sea cucumber farm in Greece.
2) The investigation of the possibility of shrimp farming in tanks, where spirulina is produced by the company ALGH AEGE, during the winter period where these tanks are not used, aiming at the circular economy.
