The Institute of Applied Biosciences is a member of the Agrotech Export Partnership, which was created in 2020 by the initiative of 18 organizations and export companies of northern Greece.
The vision of the Cluster is to become the reference point of the Agri-food sector in Greece and abroad, utilizing the unique Greek agricultural products and the know-how, innovation and productive capacity of its members to promote prosperity, healthy Mediterranean diet and sustainable development.
INAB, as the strategic innovation partner of the Agrotech Export Partnership, aims to promote Greek traditional foods, through the study of their nutritional value.
Therefore, from the beginning of 2022, the research projects approved by the business plan of the Cluster started to be implemented, with the participation of the majority of member companies. The projects covered five thematic sectors: 1) Pilot implementation of Blockchain technology, 2) Study of the nutritional value of products of the agri-food industry, 3) Development and evaluation of new functional foods, 4) Creation of the genetic identity of a product, 5) Development of prognostic models for products life time determination.
The completion of the research projects is expected to provide competitive advantages to the companies, providing innovative solutions, know-how, products and services of high added value.
